About Us

Page One Of Google Web Design is essentially a web improvement business. Yes we do web design. Yes we do SEO. More importantly than either of these though is our focus on performance improvement i.e. how do we make what you have now, do even better. That may be driving more traffic or designing you your first website, maybe you have a website you're not happy with or you have no idea what SEO means but you know it's important. Whatever stage you're at we're on hand to help and guide you to better performance.

What is different about us? Our focus. We are business people first and our experience of web design started out as nothing more than a hobby that moved on and became something more serious. We've been designing websites for pleasure for around 10 yrs but hadn't considered web design seriously until deciding we wanted to go into business for ourselves, not designing websites we might add!

Our background has been in corporate leadership and so we started a business consultancy company, having left well paid corporate jobs. As part of starting out we knew we needed a website and so we approached a few design companies and quickly realised that we were about to pay lots of money for something we could do pretty well ourselves and we had to write all the content anyway. So we figured we'd build it ourselves and off we set. With our existing experience of website design we found it fairly painless to get a good looking website up and running. When we asked people to review it they couldn't believe we had designed it ourselves and it started us thinking.........maybe we have a knack for it!

About a year later we decided the site needed to change to fit where the business was going. Being incredibly busy we engaged the services of a web design company who we paid to overhaul the website. Well that ended up being a bit of a mistake! The website we got back received less traffic, was further down the search engines and was missing all sorts of key elements for an effective commercial website. So once again, we were back to modifying and adapting it ourselves to get it the way we wanted it and to improve it's search ranking.

What we learned was that even a great web designer needs to understand first and foremost how to get a commercial website making it's owner money. This is what we do best. We turn the idea of a website into a commercial sales and marketing tool.
